Kulinarya

Whenever we go to Rockwell, we make sure that we eat at this restaurant--Kulinarya!

The sound of its name suggests Filipino food, right? But, no, they don't offer Filipino food (as far as what I know). They offer steaks and pizzas!

Cream of Squash-Php 95

I forgot the name of this dish; but it is worth remembering. Just look for this under the steak category; it's considered as one of their specialties. Look for the steak which is served with potato gratin and melted butter on top. We just ordered one serving and asked it to be divided into two.

Singapore 2012

We went to Singapore last April 17, then returned by April 19. Yes, we only stayed there for three days.

To maximize our time, we skipped Night Safari Zoo, Singapore Zoo, and Sentosa (but we went to Universal Studio).

Here's some of our photos during our stay:

Singapore Flyer

Unfortunately, I forgot the name of this place. It's just near Marina Bay Sands, and it has similar concept with Mercato at the Fort (food bazaar).

Bugis Village, the best (most affordable) night market at Singapore. Night market is open until 10pm during weekdays and 12mn during weekends. If you want to shop late during weekdays, go to Mustafa (near Farrer-MRT station). It's a department store that's open for 24 hours!

Notes:
1. Ticket from Vivo to Sentosa costs SGD3, two-way ticket already.
2. If you are backpackers or a family who is on budget, stay at Mitraa Inn. We reserved a room with 3 double deck beds and private restroom. FYI, most hostels/inns don't have private restrooms, only common restrooms. We only paid around P11,000 for our stay there (3 days and 2 nights). But, don't expect a luxurious buffet breakfast from them. Free breakfast includes bread and jam, fruit of the day, coffee, and egg.
3. Bring water when you travel because everything is expensive at Singapore, even water.
4. Bring snacks and water bottle to Universal Studios. You can bring food from outside to Universal Studios. As for drinks, you can find a lot of water fountains there.
5. My favorite rides at Universal Studios are: Ride the Movies--The Transformers and The Mummy (Roller Coaster).

Holy Week

Like what we always do for the past two years, my family spent the holy week at Zambales with the mother side.

We always stay at Megan's Resort at San Antonio, Zambales.

The rooms are clean, big, and affordable. But of course, the price and size would vary depending on the room type you want.

I recommend the "beach front" rooms.

Here are some of our photos during the holy week.

1st Day: nothing special (beach swimming + dodge ball)

Meet my siblings and cousins (just outside our room).

2nd Day: Private Island + Anawangin Cove

We originally wanted to go to Anawangin; but we were advised that the island was already crowded (too much promotions, I guess?). So, we decided to swim at the private island. Nonetheless, two of our companions have never gone to Anawangin. Thus, we still went to Anawangin before we head back to the resort.

This is our best jump shot.

Lunch picnic

Our one and only group photo at the private island (before going to Anawangin).

Us at Anawangin Cove.

3rd Day: nothing special (we didn't swim anymore)

Meet my family; the photo was taken just outside the resort.

Notes:
1. For more details about Megan's Resort, go here here

2. Capones Island is also a must visit. It has clearer water compared with Anawangin Cove; but it has more stones (mabato). BRING AQUA SHOES!

3. Go as a group to have a budget-friendly vacation.

4. If you will go to other islands and will need a boat, feel free to contact me because a cousin of my mom has boat there. He can give me a discount.
